Every time I reach another 1,000 connections, I take a moment to celebrate, not just the number, but the incredible people I meet along the way. For me, this isn’t just about building a network, it’s about expanding perspectives, learning from others, and sharpening my own thinking through new conversations.

So today, I want to introduce someone who brings a fascinating lens to AI and analytics Ramendra (Ram) Singh, Ed. D.

I first met Ram through an AI think tank group, where we exchanged ideas on agentic AI and the evolving role of intelligence in business. Ram’s story is one of adaptability and cross-industry expertise. A first-generation Indian immigrant and an IIT Computer Science graduate, he started his career at IBM before pivoting into the world of marketing sciences. Since then, he has led major organizations as a CMO, CPO (Chief Product Officer), and CAO (Chief Analytics Officer), proving that the best problem-solvers are often the ones who pull insights from unexpected places.

Case in point, one of the most interesting things I learned from Ram is how he took financial risk models designed for stock markets and applied them to marketing. Meaning, Ram is like a Wall Street trader, but instead of stocks, he’s optimizing ad dollars, balancing risk, fine-tuning investments, and ensuring every campaign performs like a high-yield portfolio.

Rather than blindly throwing money at ads and hoping for clicks, he applied structured financial logic to digital marketing, adjusting bids, managing budgets like an asset manager, and keeping returns high while costs stay controlled. It’s a brilliant example of how the best innovations often come from seeing familiar problems through an unfamiliar lens.

To me, Ram brings a sharp and thoughtful approach to AI and data science. Hearing how others interpret concepts, challenge ideas, or refine a message is key when explaining complex technologies. The way we think about innovation isn’t just shaped by what we know, but by how we listen and adapt.

Thanks for being my 23,000th connection.
