Ok so here it goes!
I was asked many times to share my thoughts after attending the Intelligent Automation Exchange which was hosted by IQPC in London last week.
After speaking on a panel at the event, and leading a very interesting round table conversation (which will be in another post) below I will provide my opinion and thoughts on not this event, however, my thoughts on the differences between automation efforts and journeys in the #unitedstates, and those in #europe.
Please note that I have written this up a few ways, and decided that I do not want to just focus on our differences. I believe talking to some of the differences would be counterintuitive to finding common ground and a potential solution forward. That being said, I write this in a hope that it helps others and is not seen as negative or criticism, however, it is more of communicating what I am seeing and bringing these observations into a brave space where we can talk about it, and it’s ok to be wrong, or even fail.
Putting on my brave hat…
Hi, I’m Doug Shannon, and from my observations, what I can infer is that the differences between European and American automation teams and business structures are reflected in these 10 areas.
o Organizational Structure:
o Customer Orientation:
o Cultural Differences:
o Regulatory Environment:
o Language and Communication:
o Technology Infrastructure:
o Talent Availability:
o Outsourcing Strategy:
o Market Maturity:
o Agile Methodology:
By understanding these common points that we all seem to be running up against. The hope is that our #automation teams and organizations can better navigate the complexities of operating in different regions and adapt all of our strategies accordingly.
