In the era of #AIagents, we’re witnessing an interesting phenomenon:
The rise of AI meeting assistants. It’s fascinating to see how these tools are addressing a very human shortcoming our collective struggle with taking good notes.
Remember when we thought GenAI would solve all our problems? Well, it turns out that some of its most practical use cases are filling gaps we didn’t even realize we had. Case in point: the humble note-taker.
Companies like Otter.ai, Fireflies.ai, odin.ai, and Fathom – AI Meeting Assistant are offering AI-powered solutions that transcribe, summarize, and extract action items from our meetings. What’s even more intriguing is that we’re entering a phase where everyone in a meeting can have their own personal AI assistant.
Soon like me laughing, you will be joining a meeting where each participant has a different AI taking notes, each AI potentially focusing on what’s most relevant to that individual.
As we move forward, I expect we’ll see more of these targeted AI solutions that address specific pain points in our work lives. They may not be as flashy as some of the grand AI visions we’ve been sold, but they’re proving to be incredibly valuable in practice.
What are your thoughts on this trend? Have you tried any AI meeting assistants? I’d love to hear about your experiences in the comments below.
