Fortifying Cybersecurity: Pessimism Meets Proactive Automation.

—It’s a swing of the pendulum—

We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them. – Albert Einstein

Take a walk with me on this thought
In the ever-evolving world of “now”, it’s crucial to embrace a pessimistic, even pragmatic yet strategic mindset while actively preparing, and still hoping for the best. I know you can’t have it all but hey Bruce Lee also said, “be formless, shapeless, like water”. In a sense as the pendulum swings back and forth while we try to be in all places at once. We must take the form that needed now or that take priority. Yet we cannot forget our previous iterations.

Cybersecurity is moving at the speed of humans, while bad actors are enabled more and more daily. Now the pendulum needs to comeback and bring GenAI with it. Fight fire with not fire but a fire suppression system.

Automation can again be a massive change agent here, ensuring that core systems are not just guarded but audited, tested, and verified effectively. Imagine a LAM- large action model attempting to infiltrate your enterprise via highly targeted email phishing – automation acts as a perfect guard rail here.

You Automation COE – Center of Enablement, monitors and respond to any irregularities. The way automated efforts work naturally is also one of the best defenses. Sure, you can say, “it’s ridged, prescriptive, or robotic”. I say it’s a separate auditable system, that has built in governance and controls that far exceed those of any enterprise end user’s settings or permissions. Simply puts it’s safer and has layered defenses.
