Embracing the Human Element in Enterprise Automation
I firmly believe that AI will not be able to take over enterprise automation completely…

The key lies in the crucial role of people throughout the entire automation journey. Here’s why:

1️⃣ People: Enterprise automation is not just about replacing manual tasks; it’s a transformative process that involves the collaboration of various individuals, including executive stakeholders, employees, customers, and partners. With people as an integral part of the decision-making process, #ai alone cannot effectively drive automation.

2️⃣ Processes: #automation goes beyond eliminating manual tasks. It requires a comprehensive reimagining of existing processes to fully leverage the power of automation. This encompasses redesigning workflows and establishing effective change management processes, governance processes, security reviews, and more. Ensuring the functionality and efficiency of these processes is essential for scaling automation.

3️⃣ Technology: The realm of enterprise automation encompasses a wide range of #technologies. While AI and machine learning are undoubtedly valuable, they are just a piece of the puzzle. Automation involves a mix of technologies, including robotic process automation (RPA), user interface (UI)-driven automation, decision engines, and more. It is the synergy between these interdependent technologies that enable successful automation, with AI being just one element among many.

4️⃣ Platform: Acting as the glue that binds everything together, the automation platform plays a pivotal role in enterprise automation. This platform integrates various technologies, facilitates seamless employee experiences, and ensures process adherence. A robust automation platform must possess critical capabilities such as automating tasks and workflows across different areas, integrating systems and applications effortlessly, incorporating AI/ML technologies for business decision-making, and providing a user-friendly experience while maintaining enterprise-grade security, audit, governance, and compliance features.

Plainly said, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to automation. To achieve success, an integrated approach that embraces people, reengineered processes, and a diverse technology stack can move mountains. AI will certainly drive the adoption of data-driven analytics and contribute to the creation of knowledge-base articles, but it will coexist with automation, where humans will remain an essential component in the decision-making loop. Together, AI and automation empower enterprises to thrive in the data-driven future.
