Leading an automation effort much less leading companies through their automation journey is a lot like starting a movement!
If you want to start a movement or let’s call it a cultural change within a team, organization, or company. To do so you have to be courageous enough to blaze ahead even if you might not know what’s at the end of that tunnel or automation pipeline. The thing about creating purposeful movement is to always be on the lookout for that first follower.
When you automate that first team’s effort, ask or headache, build that relationship, in other words, nurture the follower! Once the first follower is greeted, and accepted, others will see how this person or team was treated. If it was open, honest, and provided value to both parties you then have a winning combination towards a MOVEMENT! This same interaction will be the first of many as this story plays out over and over again. Remember you have to cultivate and welcome the follower and that follower will encourage others while showing them how to follow. At this point when followers are encouraging others, this is when a new factor is brought into the mix. When humans see other humans doing something that seems to provide value, yet is seemingly harmless and accepted. This can create MOMENTUM, and people will start to gravitate toward it, this momentum is also dependent on a second factor called FOMO – FEAR OF MISSING OUT!
If you want to spur, excite, or blaze a trail towards #intellignetautomation, #Digitaltransformation, and #ai create the movement, show the value, welcome others, and embolden them all by putting the value in their hands! They in turn will become your pipeline, your collaborators, colleagues, and innovators.
