This seems neat, not sure if it can deliver, or do everything it claims, but the value it’s aiming for is interesting and rabbit holes me enough to take interest.

𝐒𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠?
HFAI (Magic Square Firefly) is pitching a large-scale distributed deep learning platform that gives researchers direct access to compute, scheduling, and model training at scale. The core idea? Instead of relying on pre-trained models or closed APIs, HFAI lets you own your training process, from raw data to multi-node distributed execution.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞:
✅ Custom AI model training on a dedicated infrastructure
✅ Task-level scheduling for efficient resource sharing
✅ Direct control over data, training logic, and execution

It’s a different play than OpenAI or DeepSeek, which focus on delivering models as a service. HFAI is aiming for the infrastructure-level advantage, if it works as advertised, that could be powerful for enterprise AI and research teams looking to push beyond black-box solutions.

Still, the question remains, 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐬? If it delivers, it might offer a compelling alternative to hosted AI models, or open the doors to a whole new generation of creative alternatives.
