I won’t say who…

However, I did hear of a story once:

When faced with the daunting task of disposing of thousands of obsolete CDs and DVDs, a government agency found themselves in a dilemma. Simply throwing them away wasn’t an option due to the sensitive data they might contain.

Recycling ♻️ seemed impractical, and physical destruction was laborious. They used to burn 🔥 items like this, however, that has become illegal.

What to do? – A novel solution emerged:
By subjecting the metallic discs to high temperatures, all data stored on them could be effectively erased. With specialized equipment, ◾(a Microwave)◾ the agency embarked on this method, melting the discs down until they were rendered unusable.

This approach proved to be efficient and secure, ensuring that no confidential information would fall into the wrong hands. It was a practical solution to a complex problem, allowing the agency to responsibly dispose of its obsolete media while safeguarding sensitive data.
