It’s always great to talk to passionate people in the #automation and #digitaltranformation space. It is also not every day you get a call from Ema Roloff!
The question was about “How to start a CoE”, however, I of course added my personal perspective and will add more here in regards to creating and leading Center of Excellence teams that I am seeing being missed. If not missed then in the least missed opportunities.
Your company’s #COE sits or will sit in an interesting spot. You already have your IT team who supports/builds/ & reacts to the needs of the business, and the business user. You also already have your Business users who Create/Drive/ & Demand new people, processes, and tools, to continue creating and driving the business. This new COE team will be sitting between the two right in the (Center). There is a lot of trust and involvement this group will have and drive within your company.
The takeaway here is that leadership should work with the CoE which can be in #automation, #digitaltransformation, or even that #AI team everyone wants. Leadership can work with the CoE to gain some of these same key insights and make informed, and transformative decisions that can be the next driving force toward cultural change or tackle those company goals that were once thought out of reach.
