Automation is a journey, however, what does that journey look like? I hear a lot of talk about automation 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0.

I put together a picture of this from my perspective that I hope may help others to see the ‘why’ in the different levels and relationships between the stages. Is this what others are seeing or is there another way to look at this?

This visual flow can be used for more than just automation and can help to drive ML, and AI initiatives as well.
