“What CEOs talked about in Q2 2024” report shows several key trends: I have added my own overlay on top of IoT Analytics, and the report that Philipp Wegner originally posted.

๐Ÿ”น AI and Data Centers:
Both AI and data centers are prominent topics, showing substantial growth in importance and frequency of mentions. This aligns with the increasing focus on technological infrastructure and advancements in artificial intelligence. Yet, it also still shows that the market is still using shovels to find use-cases.

๐Ÿ”น Rising LLMs:
There is a noticeable rise in discussions about emerging large language models (LLMs) like Llama, Cohere, and Mistral, suggesting a shift towards newer models over more established ones like ChatGPT. Although, from my travels in Europe, I think this could be due to the EU AI Act becoming more complete which is driving more pressure on the European markets to finally start adopting the technology.

๐Ÿ”น Decline in Economic Concerns:
Topics related to economic concerns, such as recession and inflation, have significantly declined in importance. This might indicate a stabilization or shift in focus towards growth and innovation. Yet, I prefer not to be the pessimist here, but what if these concerns are just being overshadowed by things like “AI will take your job”, and the simi constant letting go of people, and using AI as an excuse… (I mean someone had to say it).

๐Ÿ”น Sustainability:
Although it’s still mentioned, sustainability topics have seen a decline, indicating a possible shift in priorities towards more immediate technological advancements. Or, it’s the calm before the storm. It’s that same ‘meme’ of your local state or government telling you not to use your air conditioner, yet please purchase electric cars and plug them in… It’s only 10 Kilowatts… ๐Ÿ˜…

๐Ÿ”น Industrial AI and IoT:
There is also significant attention on industrial AI and IoT, highlighting the ongoing integration of AI in industrial applications. If you thought IoT was hot in 2015-2018… just wait, since it will now be backed with GenAI.

๐Ÿ”น Predictive Maintenance:
This area is seeing growth, indicating a trend towards more proactive and AI-driven maintenance strategies in industries. This area hands down, will finally see massive value in the latter 2024. Think insurance too, shout out to Ema Roloff here.

If we look at this holistically, these trends reflect a broader move towards innovation and technological adoption as companies seek to adapt and thrive in a rapidly evolving market landscape. In short… We can see how new innovation is literally trying to find a market.
