🌮 I know you’re asking why is Doug Shannon writing about Taco Bell… Well, it’s an interesting story.

I was trying to figure out why my Azure data blobs indexing wasn’t functioning properly. As frustration crept in while troubleshooting a sluggish vectorization process. Perhaps it was my chunk size, or maybe my expectations were simply too high…

I clicked, to jump to the next article, the next rabbit hole, and ended up watching the live stream of Taco Bell’s First-ever Live Más LIVE event in Las Vegas…

I was bewildered and yet found myself entertained, or maybe I needed a break and was hungry for some tacos. I think it was on a Tuesday too. (Taco Tuesday) 🌮

The announcer on stage says:
“Taco Bell is already known for iconic collaborations, Taco Bell is stacking 2024 to be a year full of bold partnerships with powerhouse brands and artists to co-create new and unique menu items and put an unexpected spin on some classic favorites.”

And then shows these same images, in this post: I mean there is an X-ray of a thing, within a thing, that became a new thing. 🤔

Then they say that this Cheez-It® cracker is sixteen times the size of a normal one, with seasoned beef, nacho cheese sauce, and all the classic Crunchwrap fixings, all wrapped inside a folded tortilla. So in the end, yes I was hungry.

However, I also thought this.
Taco Bell just came up with this, they pondered, got curious, and thought. What’s a novel way to take the Cheez-It® cracker taste and put it into a bite-sized snack? Yet they did it all without hashtag#GenAI.

Not everything will be solved, created, or driven by GenAI. In this case definitely not our stomachs.

Oh, and if you’re craving tacos now, well, I can’t say I blame you.
