So you’re of the mindset that RPA, Automation, Intelligent Automation are all the same tool and only used to hammer all the pesky manual tasks aka (nails)…
As with any tool, it’s a matter of how you use it. Are your teams using it correctly and with the correct medium or outcome in mind?
The reason why automation teams tend to fail when they use RPA as a hammer is partly due to they are using the wrong tool, or not seeing that there is a different tool for a different medium. For instance below in the pic. Each type of hammer has a different purpose, be it precision, shaping, demolition , etc. all of these method can cross over to business processes as well. Also note some processes need a sledgehammer. – your team should find these and remove bad processes as they come up or are found.
The real discussion, or point I do want new companies who are looking into automation to understand is this. If you have a team, who is going to drive change throughout your business and this team may be running around with hammers
Do you want a skilled craftsman, or do you want someone who might not take a #mindsetchange perspective and just run around hitting nails with no governance, no goals, and no thoughts of how these automated processes will play out in the future.
Why do many #automation efforts fail? ⬆️ that’s why.
