In the ‘Dark Circus’ that is the News, we hear words and sayings like Lay-offs, employees leaving in record numbers, then there was the Great Resignation and now in some cases Forced Resignation.

My question is… For those of us that have stayed. “Who’s doing all the work”?

Simply put. If you thought mundane and repetitive work was stressful enough. Imagine taking on someone else’s tasks and their added work stress. I think we are all about to see the next surge in #automation, and #ai. We won’t be looking for Shadow IT or looking at Siloed workers and teams. Companies and organizations will be forced to see that the company itself, the management, and the leadership will all have to back the employees to find solutions that take the stress out of the day-to-day.

On one hand. If companies don’t build toward a solution like automation. They will lose more workers due to the uptick in stress. These employees who are being asked to take on more will be looking for new jobs and new roles that promise a better work-life balance.

On the other hand. If companies do nothing and avoid this new change. You will see not a surge but an avalanche of people resigning for all the reasons provided above.
