I continue to see random facts or information tossed about around GenAI, and Artificial Intelligence in general taking the blame or heat for (name the issue today)
In this story, we are discussing the lagging innovation of the internet. I mean check out this title sentence
‘Wildly disappointing’: Tech exec warns web innovation is stagnating, compares it to space exploration post-1970s’
So with that title and an astronaut on the main picture… they had me hooked. Yet… reading it, it seemed the same, another area “lagging” (disrupted, unimagined, and or slow to respond). Again toss in a different sound bite and go forth with the nightly news .
So, getting to a point here, I promise. Sure the internet, the security space, and the home decor space is moving slower. However, genai and AI isn’t ‘just’ technology, nor just innovation. It’s an enabler, a concept and product all in one. So if the internet is slowing and no new ideas are coming out of it… Then my answer is, that when autonomous agents, also known as ai agents start to come out and one of them is an agents that build ‘everyone’ a website to promote themselves, control their own narrative, and ultimately enable people. Then won’t there be an influx of new ideas and innovation in this space?
I’m leaning towards yes. Think AI enabled people meets #myspace
